Raeleen Fiafia Writing
Fiafia Whoooo!! Fiafia is one of the entertaining events we get to do in school. If you don't know what fiafia is it is a cultural festival celebrating our cultures in many different ways so it is Slightly like Polyfest and Pasifika. Fiafia is a fun, enjoyable and it is really good because you get to know more about where you come from but most of all you get to represent your culture.
Hearing the audience chanting fiafia in my head, butterflies approaching my stomach and my palms sweating. Imagining what would happen if I was to make a mistake. Ignoring my friends but trying to concentrate on my dance moves, getting dressed into our beautiful new costumes, going through our dances moves to sharpen it up. Walking pass the EXIT signs heading towards our seats.
Mr Burt and our schools prefectS Tyla - Marie, Isara, Gloria, Kaycee and Whatt hosted Fiafia for 2014. After the Korero about picking up your children is not allowed it was time for the opening act from the Senior Kapa Haka followed by Middle School kapa Haka. After 10 acts just passed by it was time for the Senior Samoan to perform.
Walking past some groups towards the stage, getting goose bumps straight away, my brain was over thinking of what would happen out there, but the one thing I have to remember is to SMILE!!. When the song started my goose bumps slowly went away, putting a smile on my face and went with the flow. After our performance was finished I was bummed because this was my last year doing Fiafia.
After Fiafia for 2014 was over Gloria ended it up with a karakia in TongaN. Then Mr Burt went over his Korero again and Fiafia was finished. My favourite item would have to my group and Niean. I’m going to miss Fiafia so much because it it one of my favourite events ever.

Raeleen Information Report about a Tiger : Writing
Tigers is one of the most strongest hunting animal that ever lived. Tigers are cold blooded which means that they are mammals. Tigers, Lions and cheetahs are apart of the cat family because they have fur and whiskers. In south africa their a more than 1 million Tigers living their. When is comes to hunting an animal no Tiger goes alone, they always go in a pack to attack. Did you know some Tigers are extinct in the wilds or around the world. The Tigers that are extrinsic are Bali Tiger, Javan Tiger and South Chinese Tiger. Tigers are my favourite Mammals even though I am scared of them and I really love it when they ROOOOAAARRRR!!!
The teeth of the Tiger is super duser sharp sometimes it is really useful for chewing the meat of the bones, they also have a big and long tooth called fans, they use it for stabbing it into an animal's skin so it can drop onto the group. The Claws of the Tiger is really good because when a Tiger gets attack by another animal it can use its claws to scratch or to dig its claws to the group for proper balance, and the claws helps the tiger to not slip when it is running in the rain. The Tail of the Tiger is kinda long, some scientist say” A Tigers tail can be the same as a 1 year old baby”.
When a baby Cub is born the Female Tiger and the Male Tiger takes it to a safe location for protections because Eagles or Jackals might come and eat the baby Cub. When a baby cub is one it is time for them to learn how to hunt. But the one thing they have to learn before hunting a big animal with its pack they have to learn how to kill a squirrel or a bird. A Cub is really adorable when it is little but when it grows up to be a Tiger it is vicious.
Most of the Tigers live in Asia, Russia, South Africa and China. Usually some Tigers lives in areas where there are tall trees, bushes to hide in and dead long grass so they can’t be spotted. The oldest of the Tigers are mostly the Leaders because the oldest knows more and knows the right time to kill. But when the Tigers leaves its territory it is a really sad time for their mothers and wives, but even though it is a sad moment it was what they have to do so they can keep their families protected from any dangerous animals.
Tigers are scary and well known around the world because it always comes on Animal Planet and others. Did you know a female Tiger is really strong?. According to my researches it says” A female Tiger can hunt a big Buffalo with 2 other Female Tigers”. I really LOVE!! Tigers because when I was little I use to have heaps of Tiger teddy bears.

Raeleen Why is the Moon upside Down : Reading Follow Up
Read the article Why is the Moon Upside Down?
After reading the text and the diagrams, what does the information tell us?
That Niko who is living in Japan is seeing something weird about the moon.
Text - What does the text tell us? Summarise
Ani and Niko known each other since they were in kindergarten, their families lived next to each other and they use to stay at each others houses. When they were growing up they use to camp outside on the deck. Sometimes after school finishes they would always think that they might travel the world. One day Niko’s mum got offered a job in Japan so that meant Niko and Ani will not see each other again. But Ani and Niko will always talk to each other on gmail, Ani was waiting so long for Niko to send a message to him, but Niko finally sent a message about why is the moon upside down?. So Ani said” they will take some pictures of the moon so that they can discover why is Ani seeing the moon upside down. Suddenly their cameras didn’t have very good zooms. So they decided to draw pictures of the moon so they know what's the difference.. So Sam’s dad was a hunter so they wanted to use his binoculars. But the whole thing didn't work well so they waited for the new moon to start. After a few week they set each other their drawings and WOW! they are really good drawers. After comparing the drawing they found out why is the moon upside down?. Because Ani is living in the southern Hemisphere and Niko is living in the Northern Hemisphere. So Ani is seeing the top of the moon and Niko is seeing the bottom of the moon so that is why it was weird to him.
What do the diagrams tell us?
When you are in the northern hemisphere you see the top of the moon, but if you are in the southern hemisphere you see the bottom of the moon. So I think Niko was use to seeing the bottom of the moon so that is why he said it was weird.
